The Kasari Lab is committed to serving the diverse group of children that make up the autism community. There are children with low language ability, children who are high-functioning, children who do not respond well to current treatment plans, children who are unsupported in fully included classrooms, and children from ethnic and economic backgrounds who are often not represented in research trials. In order to ensure that treatments are relevant to children of all different backgrounds, we must address the challenges of ASD across each aspect of development and social context and come up with treatment plans that are adaptable enough to meet the needs of each child, flexible enough to be implemented in a wide range of settings, and sustainable enough to effect long term change.
